Bridge Deck pour Cemetery Road Bridge - 2nd April
On Wednesday 2nd April we will be pouring concrete to the bridge deck forming the new Cemtery Road Bridge. To protect road users from the possibility of grout drips during the pour operation we will be installing two-way traffic lights on the A465 after peak traffic flows. As a result we will not commence the pour until approximately 4pm resulting in works continuing on into the evening.
We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause to both road users and local residents, but will endeavour to reduce disturbance to a minimum.
Carno Underpass Takes Shape
The concrete arch sections which form the culvert beneath Carno Embankment have now being lifted into place. Each of the 150 units weighs approx 28tonnes and when placed will create a 9m high, 18m wide by 150m long culvert.
Carillion are continuing to support the local community through targeting local labour and suppliers where possible, providing resources for local events or providing funding to support activities. To read more about these, visit the Community Involvement page.
A465 Dualling Section 3 Scheme Plan
Section 3 extends from Intermediate Road Bridge near Brynmawr roundabout to Nant y Bwch roundabout at Tredegar. It is the next phase of the A465 dualling scheme to be delivered by the Welsh Government, helping to improve journeys and drive regeneration along the Heads of the Valleys. The A465 forms a vital part of the Trans European Network link between Ireland and the Midlands.
