A465 Overnight Road Closures: 17th to 20th November
The A465 west bound slip road from Tredegar roundabout will be closed from 7pm until 6am on the 17th, 18th , 19th and 20th November. The closures are necessary to enable us to install duct crossings across the slip road and undertake surfacing works to the roundabout and slip road. Traffic diversions will be in place via Merthyr Road. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this causes with regard to delays to journey times and additonal noise created during the overnight works.
Alan Davies Way Bridge (Rassau West) - Open
The new bridge constructed on Alan Davies Way is now open. It now allows traffic to use the north-south link at the western end of the Rassau Industrial Estate. The southern access link is now closed as a through-road, except for access to businesses along that section. A schematic drawing of access routes to each area of the industrial estate can be seen by clicking HERE.
Carno Underpass Takes Shape
The concrete arch sections which form the culvert beneath Carno Embankment have now being lifted into place. Each of the 150 units weighs approx 28tonnes and have been placed to form a 9m high, 18m wide by 150m long culvert. The valley and arch are now in the process of being backfilled with material excavated from other parts of the scheme.

A465 Dualling Section 3 Scheme Plan
Section 3 extends from Intermediate Road Bridge near Brynmawr roundabout to Nant y Bwch roundabout at Tredegar. It is the next phase of the A465 dualling scheme to be delivered by the Welsh Government, helping to improve journeys and drive regeneration along the Heads of the Valleys. The A465 forms a vital part of the Trans European Network link between Ireland and the Midlands.
